Investigating the Microstructure-Dependent Corrosion of DP780 Steel
A study investigating how the corrosion rate of Hot Rolled DP780 steel can be improved by the formation of specific microstructures. To analyze their influence, we have isolated martensitic, ferritic, bainitic, and pearlitic steels and compared corrosion performance. We then applied a heat treatment to our DP780 steel, with the goal of optimizing corrosion performance by maximizing the most preferable microstructures, using our findings. Team Members: Sarujan Manoranjitharajah, Tahmid Chowdhury, Prabh Sarai, Weiliang Huang.
