Engineering Co-op and Career Services (ECCS) is introducing 17 Co-op Ambassadors to increase engagement and build a stronger community spirit amongst members of the engineering co-op community.

The world has changed since the COVID-19 pandemic officially hit us back in March 2020. But, a full year into the pandemic student activities is slowly starting to return to normal, including in-person activities, like going to work, in-person interviews, social distancing networking events and much more! Many students may find themselves anxious during this eccentric time, but the Engineering Co-op and Career Services (ECCS) has recruited 17 individuals, part of the Co-op Ambassador Program, who are here to provide additional support and help to their fellow peers.

As a previous Co-op Ambassador and now a Lead Ambassador, I have seen firsthand the positive impact the program has on the students and faculty as a whole.

Maddison Konway, Lead Co-op Ambassador

The Co-op Ambassador Program is a wonderful way for students to connect with other students and have all their questions answered. Interviews, networking, resumes, and cover letters can seem difficult, but with the right help and support, it doesn’t have to be! One of the key visions for the Co-op Ambassador Program is “to share your knowledge and experience of the entire co-op process and workplace experience in order to improve the employability and positive experiences of other students.”

While the events lined up for this semester are still to be virtual, students can still e-meet and connect with all the co-op ambassadors at events like Return from Co-op to Campus, Employer Networking sessions, virtual job/career fairs, and open houses. In addition, the ambassadors will be active on many social media platforms like sharing career tips on LinkedIn or doing Instagram takeovers on the MacEng account to educate and keep students updated on all things related to co-op!

Here are the 2021/2022 Co-op Ambassadors. Make sure to meet them at different career/co-op events and connect with them on LinkedIn to stay updated.
