On May 27, McMaster Engineering graduates, families, staff and faculty marked an important academic milestone.

The legacy celebration, held at FirstOntario Concert Hall with more than 600 attendees, consisted of a ceremony and a reception.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from Acting Dean Heather Sheardown, followed by comments from Chancellor Santee Smith, and McMaster University President David Farrar.

Words of advice to our graduates were delivered through a video compilation from 2020 and 2021 honorary doctorates. Then it was time for the recent graduates to cross the stage! This year’s program took on a different approach as each graduate had the opportunity to announce their name, their degree, and a few additional words.

Valedictorians from 2020, Lacey Wice and Vincent Popovich, finally delivered their speeches in front of a live audience.

Following the ceremony, graduates migrated over to the mezzanine level of FirstOntario Concert Hall for a reception.

They reunited with friends and professors, celebrated with family and took photos in front of a grand balloon display.

To celebrate our graduates, we asked a few of them to share their Mac Eng Moments.
