Design Like a Girl 2024

Learn how to tackle tomorrow’s healthcare challenges!

Design Like a Girl is the iBioMed program’s one-day event for women-identifying high school students who want to learn more about making and designing products.

During the morning, you will have workshops in coding, electronics and sensors and how to design a solution to today’s healthcare challenges. In the afternoon, you and your team will research, draw and even code a solution, and then present it to our faculty and mentors. The day will close out with awards for the best and coolest creations!

You get all this for only $10. And it includes lunch!

9:00 a.m.: Event kickoff and introductions

9:15: Icebreaker activities

9:45: Intro to Design Principles, Electronics and Sensors

11:00: Introduction to State Diagrams & Python Coding

12 – 1:30 p.m.: Lunch and campus tour

1:30 – 2:30: Team research activities

2:30 – 4:30: Team design, drawing and coding

4:30 – 5:30: Design showcase and awards!
