Offered 7 weeks in summer

Engineering Explorations: Grades 3-9

Engineering Explorations summer camp is a full-day in-person program hosted at McMaster University’s Campus in Hamilton, Ontario.

Engineering Explorations introduces students to a wide range of engineering concepts through exciting hands-on activities!

Students in this program will have the opportunity to complete a chemistry and circuit/soldering lab along with many other engaging projects and workshops. These will have a focus on exploring engineering design, developing digital literacy skills, and applying STEAM concepts that students learn.

This camp program is developed and taught by undergraduate students enrolled in McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering programs and is also supported by McMaster University professors and staff members.

Students entering Grade 3 or 9 as of September 2024 should enrol in this program.

Engineering Explorations: weeks offered

The one-week program is offered for 7 different weeks of the summer. The content is repeated for all weeks of the summer.

  4. July 22-26, 2024
  5. July 29- August 2, 2024
  6. August 12-16, 2024
  7. August 19-22, 2024  (no camp on Friday, August 23, 2024)

There is no transportation being offered this year.

Offered 6 weeks in summer

STEM Discovery: Grades 3-9

Venture Academy’s STEM Discovery summer camp is a full-day in-person program hosted at McMaster University’s Campus in Hamilton, Ontario.

STEM Discovery introduces students to a wide range of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts through exciting hands-on activities!

Students in this program will have the opportunity to complete a biology and 3D printing lab and/or physics lab along with many other engaging projects and workshops. These will have a focus on exploring engineering design, developing digital literacy skills, and applying STEAM concepts that students learn.

This camp program is developed and taught by undergraduate students enrolled in McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering programs and is also supported by McMaster University professors and staff members.

Students entering Grade 3-9 as of September 2024 should enrol in this program.

STEM Immersive Experience: Grades 9-12

The STEM Immersive Experience program introduces students to a wide range of STEM concepts through engaging and meaningful workshops and experiences.

Students will have the opportunity to complete a biology, chemistry, 3D printing, physics and soldering lab along with other hands-on activities. Students will have the opportunity to create their very own week-long engineering focused project where they can apply the STEM skills developed in other aspects of the program.

Students entering Grade 9, 10, 11 or 12 as of September 2024 should enrol in this program
