The Centre for Career Growth and Experience (the Centre) team supports students with employment preparation and career readiness, connects students with employers and provides opportunities for students to gain meaningful experiences.


We understand that every student is different; your career journey is shaped by a multitude of experiences.


Our approach allows you to have the flexibility to make your own decisions and choices, with the support of our team and subject-matter experts. We are here to guide, support, coach and offer expertise, resources and options.

How co-op works

The Engineering Co-op Program
provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to gain valuable engineering work and experiential learning opportunities before they graduate. 

Our program is flexible, supported and accessible for all.

  • Direct entry from high school, and available in all degree options.
  • The co-op designation on your degree is achieved upon completion of a minimum of 12 months of registered work experience.
  • Additional co-op experience is available up to a total maximum of 24 months (4-year programs) or 28 months (5-year programs).
  • For maximum flexibility, options include 4-month summer work terms or 8-month to 16-month continuous work-terms.
