Angela Pappin
Angela Pappin ’88 embodies McMaster Engineering’s spirit of innovation and excellence. Known for her strong leadership and expertise in engineering, energy management, manufacturing and corporate strategy, her career trajectory exemplifies dedication, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.
In 2014, Angela was appointed to ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s Executive Team, as VP Technology, after having held senior roles including General Manager, Metallurgy and Quality, and Business Unit Manager of Cold Roll and Tinplate Technology. In 2018, she was appointed to VP Manufacturing at ArcelorMittal Dofasco – the first female to ever hold the role in the company’s 112-year history. She now serves as Chief Transformation Officer and has added the portfolio of Decarbonization Business Integration to her scope, where she works to accelerate the company’s adoption of technology and challenge assumptions about work processes.
Angela has been recognized for her many contributions including being nominated for the 2019 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards in the Business Leadership, Entrepreneurship category, being awarded the McMaster University Faculty of Engineering Leadership Award and being inducted as a Fellow into the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2018.
Angela is currently Chair, Women in Manufacturing, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, a member of the Board of Directors, Next Generation Advanced Manufacturing Canada and Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board, offering input and guidance on the future direction of McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering.

Zara Marfo is an Award-Winning D&I Leader, recognized in 2023 by WXN (Women’s Executive Network) as one of Canada’s top 5 D&I leaders.
As ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s first Manager, Diversity and Inclusion, Zara Marfo is committed to making an impact within the manufacturing industry, helping organizations like AMD foster a safe and inclusive organization for all. Her mission is to “create workplaces where everyone can thrive”
Zara Marfo has over 15 years’ global experience working within retail, finance services and insurance industries, she is a certified human resources leader (CHRL) and a certified Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Practitioner. She holds a BA in Communications and a Post Grad in Human Resources Management.
