Overview
Dr. Rajabzadeh is an Associate Professor and former Chair of the Biotechnology Program at the School of Engineering Practice and Technology. Dr. Rajabzadeh specializes in the field of biochemical engineering with a focus on biosensors, bioseparation and purification, bioprocess monitoring and control, bioreactor design, and environmental engineering. Much of his research was devoted to exploring novel biosensing strategies as well as bioseparation processes for the production of high functional proteins from bioresources with applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Current research interests include the development of biosensors and online analyzers for characterization and long-term monitoring of species in complex biological processes. Dr. Rajabzadeh is a Professional Engineer of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Engineering Education Association and the American Society for Engineering Education. Dr. Rajabzadeh has won the McMaster President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning and has been a MacPherson Leadership in Teaching and Learning (LTL) Fellow.
