Overview

Our work focuses on automating the design and synthesis of high-performance Integrated Circuits (ICs). We are developing innovative design strategies to address the Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) challenges in the semiconductor industry. Also, we are interested in developing cost-effective self-powered platforms that integrate functionalities from sensing to wireless transmission for the emerging technologies.

Mohamed B. Elamien received his BSc (Highest Honors) and MSc degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from University of Sharjah in 2015 and 2017, respectively. In 2021, he received his PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Calgary. From 2021 to 2022, he worked as a post doctoral associate in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary. In 2022, he joined Synopsys as a senior analog & mixed-signal circuit design engineer. In January 2023, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, where he is currently an assistant professor.

Dr. Elamien is a recipient of Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Award (2020) – Technology category, Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship (for two consecutive years 2019 and 2020), and the 2022 Schulich School of Engineering Graduate Student Research Excellence Award.
