Community Outreach has created entirely new Teacher Training Modules that aim to assist educators in the delivery of digital literacy skill building for youth.
These asynchronous video modules are a reflection of the new science curriculum and math curriculum for Grades K-8, and an extension of the technology-based curriculum in Grades 9-12.
These modules are completely free for teachers and teacher candidates. All training modules are designed for educators looking to implement digital literacy skills in their classrooms!

The learning goals of the Early Education module is to introduce teachers and educators to the Engineering Design Process and how they can implement it in their classrooms. The example activity for this group is guiding students through building a boat that can withstand different weights.
Material Requirement:
- Metal Washers, large beads, or heavier coins (any small size item with substantial weight)
- Tape
- Play-Doh or Modelling Clay
- Paper
- Popsicle Sticks
- Pipe Cleaners
- Sponges
- Paper Plates
- Scissors
The learning goals of the Primary module is to introduce teachers and educators to the Engineering Design Process and how they can implement it in their classrooms. There are 3 example activities in this module that helps teachers guide their students through the process!
Material Requirement:
- Household items (ex. Water bottles, cereal boxes, etc.)
- Paper
- Craft supplies (Popsicle sticks, cardboard, straws, etc.)
- Tape
- Scissors
The learning goals of the Junior module is to introduce teachers and educators to the Engineering Design Process and how they can implement it in their classrooms. There are 3 example activities in this module that helps teachers guide their students through the process!

- Paper
- Craft supplies (Popsicle sticks, cardboard, straws, etc.)
- Tape
- Scissors
- Cardboard and Cardboard Box
- String
- 9V Battery
- Cut and stripped Christmas Lights
- Aluminum Foil
The learning goals of the Intermediate module is to introduce teachers and educators to the Engineering Design Process and how they can implement it in their classrooms. There are 3 example activities in this module that helps teachers guide their students through the process!

- Craft supplies (Popsicle sticks, cardboard, straws, etc.)
- Paper
- Plastic Bags
- String
- Scissors
- Tape
- Bottle (cut in half)
- Coffee Filter
- Charcoal, Sand and/or Cotton Balls
The learning goals of the Senior module is to introduce teachers and educators to the Engineering Design Process and how they can implement it in their classrooms. There are 2 example activities in this module that helps teachers guide their students through the process!
