A New Gateway to Engineering
JHE Outdoor Quad project: Class of 1990 Reunion Gift

July 12, 2016

Dear Class of B. Eng ‘90 and B. Eng & Mgmt. ‘91:

I am excited to share with you recent news from McMaster Engineering. Last year, the Class of ’85 came together to create a legacy gift to expand and renovate the lobby of the John Hodgins Engineering Building. This year, the Class of ’90 is challenged to help us improve the student experience by coming together to support the renovations and re-landscaping of the JHE Quad.

Momentum is growing in support of the JHE Quad project, but we need your help. We hope we can enlist your support to create an attractive and comfortable outdoor space that will offer dynamic meeting spaces and seating areas equipped with Wi-Fi, and a modern entranceway to the John Hodgins Engineering Building.

The Class of ‘90 is hoping to raise one-third of the estimated cost of the project, with Dr. Ishwar Puri, Dean of Engineering, promising to match alumni donations with funds from the Faculty of Engineering.

Various ideas are currently being considered to recognize alumni donors for their support and to help motivate today’s engineering students to continually be “World Changers”.

“Your generous support, combined with others in the Class of 1990, will create this gateway to engineering, a stunning new space where students, staff, faculty members, and the wider community can meet, mingle and relax.” says Chris Crozier (Civil ‘90). “Please join me in making your Class of ’90 Reunion Gift to the John Hodgins Engineering Outdoor Quad Project. Thank you!”

We hope you will be part of the New Engineering Quad project!

Best regards,

Terry Milson, Class of ‘79
Engineering Advancement Officer
