Largest ever government investment in McMaster labs benefits students, researchers and industry

The government of Canada and province of Ontario are investing $43 million in engineering and science teaching and research labs at McMaster as part of a massive $75 million project.

The funding will support the repair and retrofit of existing labs with a focus on bioinnovation, plus the construction of a new six-storey addition to that building.

Engineering entrepreneurs raise $54K – in just one day

A McMaster-born company that hopes to revolutionize prototypes for start-ups has generated $54,000 in one day on Kickstarter. Chipsetter Inc., which produces a low-cost desktop pick and place machine, launched a Kickstarter campaign on Sept. 27 with a goal to raise $140,000 in crowd­sourced funds in 30 days.
